One would think it was the middle of a war zone and not Barataria, Trinidad as a violent explosion tore through the quiet evening yesterday as a grenade was detonated near the corner of sixth and Eighth Street.
At around 9:30pm, it was reported to the police of the North Eastern Division, that the grenade was thrown out a moving vehicle with the alleged intent to harm another individual. No one was injured in the subsequent explosion, however a parked a white sedan was severely damaged.
The police are continuing their investigation into the incident which continues the escalating rate of criminal activity in the country. Yesterday the murder of a man in Casblanca, Cascade brought the country’s murder rate 113 for the year 2016.
