All book lovers get ready....the NGC Bocas Lit Fest, the Trinidad and Tobago literary festival – an annual celebration of stories, words and ideas, with a Caribbean focus and international scope – is back and celebrating its sixth successive year.
The 2016 Festival, which runs from 27 April to 1 May, brings together readers and writers from Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean, and the wider world for five days of readings, talks, performances, workshops, discussions, film screenings, and more, plus a full programme of activities for the young.
At the launch, scheduled for March 16th the an announcement will be made on an exciting new Latin American and Spanish Literary Film Festival along with a wealth of programme plans for the next 12 months that will continue to reshape the country’s literary landscape and that of the entire Caribbean region.
The festival continues to takes place at the National Library (NALIS) and the adjoining Old Fire Station in downtown Port of Spain, the heart of the capital. An entire block of the city will again be transformed into the Festival Village, which includes a performance stage open to the street, music in the Trinity Cathedral, a booksellers’ area with hundreds of titles on sale, an exhibition of new first books, and space to eat, drink, and relax.
