Skipper Kenwyne Jones is rumoured to be in talks with Al Jazira regarding a move that would take him to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates from the cold of Cardiff, Wales. Cardiff City FC have already stated that they are willing to let Jones leave the club in order to get him off the wage bill rather than wait until his contract expires at the end of the season.
A number of clubs have reportedly shown an interest in the Trinidadian captain including Sven Goran Eriksson's Shanghai SIPG and the MLS. Al Jazira are currently fourth from bottom of the table in Arabian Gulf League.
Jones is seen as a like for like replacement for Montenegrin forward Mirko Vucinic, who is out for the season with a knee injury.Jones is expected to sign a six month contract for the rest of the season within the next 24 hours after flying out for further talks and a medical.
We wish our Soca Warriors captain all the best as he sets out on this next stage in his career.
