Taylor wins T20I Player of the year

Congrats are in order for West Indies Women's Captain, Stafanie Taylor who copped the title of Cricketer of the Year in the ICC Women's T20 International.

The 24 year old Jamaican has represented West Indies Women's Cricket team over 80 times since her debut in 2008.

Taylor, also a Sydney Thunder batter, scored the most runs by any women’s batter in the shortest format of the game – 340 in nine matches, during the 12 month voting period.

In accepting her reward Taylor said "for me, it is an early Christmas gift, so I have something extra to celebrate. Winning an award is extra motivation to do better."

She dedicated her award to her team mates whom she says " have been very supportive of me throughout my career. "

Taylor has already scored 178-runs for Sydney Thunder in her first five matches of WBBL01 including an unbeaten 59 against the Sydney Sixers in the opening round of the tournament.
