Tuesdays have gotten a little more interesting in Woodbrook.
LadyBug Services continues its new ongoing series called Unplugged Tuesdays, at the RuStreet Bar and Restaurant, and this week displayed yet another dynamic line up.
On Tuesday this week it was billed as the "Riddim Party," where myriad artists performed, including the ever popular Allison Hinds, College Boy Jesse, Syr and Calypsonian "Crazy." They all performed their songs under the the Hush, Fruit Burst and Skype Riddims produced by Zib Boi.
Hinds said she enjoyed working on her song to the Hush Riddim, Alibi (Mama Yo), written by College Boy Jesse (Jesse Stewart). "I look forward to being able to perform it during the carnival season," Hinds said. The Bajan Soca star revealed a Chutney-Soca collaboration with local Chutney-Soca star Rikki Jai called "Suragee" and said she was thrilled with the Chutney experience. She took the time to mention that her 2016 track, Parade, was done in collaboration with the Non Profit Organisation Globathon, which advocates "Below the Belt" Cancer awareness (cancers affecting the body from the waist down.)
College Boy Jesse and the other artists wowed the crowd with their tracks, giving the audience a taste of what's to come during the Carnival season. The event was so well received it caused other artists the likes of Zan and Olatunji to make an appearance in support of the show and take part in the festive atmosphere.
"Unplugged Tuesdays" seems to be a mainstay in the mid week roster of events leading up to the Carnival season. Another good lime on the cards.
