The People’s National Movement (PNM) is today mourning the loss of one of its founding members.
Kamaluddin Mohammed died at 10:30 last night of kidney failure. He had been ailing for some time and was frequently in and out of hospital.
He served as Acting Prime Minister, Member of Parliament (MP) for St. Joseph, and as Agriculture, Land and Fisheries Minister under the then Dr Eric Williams-led PNM.
Over the course of 30 years Dr Mohammed wore a number of hats which included serving as CARICOM ambassador; Minister of Public Utilities, Health, and Local Government among other posts.
His funeral is set for 4 p.m. today at the Nur E Islam Mosque in San Juan.
