Independent Senator: Nat. Sec. budget increase meaningless

Independent senator Stephen Creese says that the increased allocation to national security will make little difference in the fight against crime.

Speaking during the budget debate in the senate this afternoon Creese called for a clearer picture to be painted by the government on its plans, and say whether or not more money will be spent on policy rather than infrastructure or vehicles and ammunition.

He also called for details on municipal corporations and whether or not they will be involved in community policing among other initiatives.
